Originally from Thetis Island in Coast Salish territory, with a passion for wild places and the creatures in them, Andrea works to protect our most outstanding and endangered landscapes through collaboration, communication, and advocacy.
Before joining the Ancient Forest Alliance in 2017, Andrea worked at state and local governments in Brisbane, Australia, conducting community engagement and consultation activities for public works projects. She has also worked and volunteered with several national and international environmental non-profits, including the Australian Marine Conservation Society, supporting a national campaign to protect the iconic Great Barrier Reef; The Nature Conservancy’s Asia Pacific Region; and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society’s BC Chapter, where she currently sits on the Board of Directors.
Andrea holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Business from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Environmental Management from the University of Queensland, Australia, specializing in conservation and natural resource management. When not on her laptop, Andrea can often be found exploring coastal temperate rainforests near her home in Vancouver, skiing, and stand-up paddle boarding with her rescue dog, Jack.
